ABOUT
KELLI

Kelli's love of photography began at the age of 10 when she was given her first Kodak Instax camera as a birthday present. It came as no surprise that once in high school, she fell in love with the art of black and white traditional film photography. On some days, she'd even ditch her academic classes and just stay in the darkroom, developing photos and rolling film for the entire day. Most of her images consisted of her punk rock friends and local punk bands that she has shot from Fullerton to Hollywood. It should also come as no surprise again when she got her big break when she creatively snuck in a large telephoto lens and DSLR camera to a MUSE concert, and sooner after, a Queens of the Stone Age concert. It wasn't long after that Kelli eventually made friends with members in the bands and the Los Angeles music scene and eventually began shooting for various media outlets.

While Kelli also owns and operates a luxury lifestyle and destination wedding photography business, music portraiture and journalism will always be her first love and the basis of her editorial-meets-journalism style of photography. She can creatively capture the rawness of a moment and blend it with a high-end, luxury editorial feel. She's a punk rock Martha Stewart. Iggy Pop-meets-Pottery Barn. Next to her old crusty vinyl punk rock and jazz records sit fancy candles that complete her zen den.

Kelli currently resides in Hollywood, CA and travels worldwide.

FUN FACTS

THIS IMAGE RIGHT HERE! This goofy yet totally epic shot of "Metal Skool" aka Metal Shop, now known as Steel Panther. This is Satchel, at the end of their set, probably an encore at a NYE show at the Roxy in West Hollywood back in 2005 I think. I had a fake ID then, went to see my friends, Bullets and Octane, open for Metal Skool. At the time, I was still shooting on a very mediocre digital camera - probably one that didn't have interchangeable lenses. This was me in the midst of the film-to-digital crossover all of us old school photographers were making. I got some really great shots because the Roxy just has epic lighting which makes shooting easier. So Satchel, the lead singer and guitar player, went behind the drum set to do his final solo, both on guitar and drums and did this pose at the end. I think this is one of three shots I got, The other two were blurry and this one came crisp and just fucking great. After I saw the image preview on the little LCD screen, this feeling came over me, like a giant wave of clarity. I always knew I wanted to be a photographer, but at that moment, I definitely knew I also wanted to shoot music. I knew had the talent to capture epic moments. Or at least I'd like to think so ;)

I found out later that night after the show that my car got towed. WORTH IT.
